She has painted these large peonies in a special period of time, when the spring was coming and early flowers appeared. It was a time of blooming for nature, a period that inspired her to surround herself with colourful flowers. By painting them she wanted to bring forward the image of summer flowers.
When she conceived it, she imagined a horizontal artwork perfect for a large living room, but when she was finishing it she realised that it could be displayed also as a vertical piece.
