This is the son of #0889 "The Barracks". I wanted to do a larger version of the very successful sketch and didn't have a 3x4 foot canvas. So I settled on a 24x30 inch format. I always like a little pun in the title.
This is view across the entrance to St. John's Harbour at "The Barracks". This small, close-knit fishing community was very colourful on a sunny Newfoundland day. The colours of the homes is what drew me to this landscape. The streets are as steep as "Hello". One has to use a combination of "gas" and "brake" to keep going where you want. The homes of the Barracks were built by fishermen but are now being "Yuppie-ized" as the area has become fashionable and close to the downtown of St. John's and the bankers, lawyers and politicians - my favourite type of people!
