Elkin Cañas was born in 1974 in Colombia, but grew up in Venezuela, where his parents moved when he was 3 years old. Drawing was always part of his life, and discovered his passion for painting at a very young age. He studied graphic design at The Caracas Institute of Design, followed by the art school of his home city, where he attended for 2 years.
