Embryo,
The beginning, and the evolution. Almost every life start with this embryonic form althought after thousand years of evolution the basic plan for a creature's beginning remains the same drawing energy for growth from outside the dimension. There is a delicate and fragile balance of energy that allow the grouth and evolution. Every part of the sculpture represent this process. The central piece is the embryo's form surrounded by the elemnts that keep this balance and kinetic mechanical gear that represent the movement and energy. Everything in this piece is about the combination of forces that keep the balance of life.
I created these sculptures by using broken or otherwise discarded objects, to give them new or continued life by reworking them as works of art. using Kintsukuroi, to not only repair, but also to celebrate the initial damage with golden emphasis. My work was inspired by knowledge of this art, and a desire to preserve the past, like most of my figurative work.
