This coloured pencil drawing shows the portrait of a rhinoceros in an idyllic landscape. The animal is placed in the foreground and takes up most of the picture. Its distinctive horn and watchful eye are precisely drawn. The detailed contours and shading of the rhinoceros have been combined with colourful elements in the background. The texture of the thick rhino skin has been carefully worked out using fine lines and shading. The background consists of a simple but effective landscape. A light blue sky stretches across the upper part of the picture, while the lower part is taken up by a light green grassland. In the distance, a few bare trees are hinted at, adding depth to the image. The colour scheme, which focuses on grey and white tones for the rhinoceros, contrasts with the soft blue and green tones of the surroundings. This lends the depiction a calm, almost meditative atmosphere.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
