Un ave hermosa que deslumbra con su plumaje azúl, blanco y rojo desde Concepción hasta Tierra del Fuego en Chile, y también en Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay y Brasil.

Como dice su nombre, se alimenta de peces, aunque a veces también come ranas, insectos y algunos crustáceos, todos capturados en ríos tranquilos, lagunas, tranques y esteros.

Esta ilustración fue hecha con lápices de colores Faber Castell Polychromos en papel Canson modelo Bristol.
