Famoso dentro de la mitología japonesa.

Su forma es propia de un hombre rana (lomos en forma de concha de tortuga y una coronilla en forma de plato donde contiene agua, si pierde ese liquido su poder le abandona.
Le gusta el sumo y los pepinos.

En la Guía Ilustrada se plantea su afición por ahogar a las personas que están cerca de la orilla del rio, llevándoles al fondo del rio, tras haberles cogido de las piernas.

Mientras en Japandemonium, defiende que esta entidad gira por debajo de los nadadores para absorberles el shiri-kodama, (fuerza vital de los humanos ubicada en el colón.
