This pencil drawing by C. Abdelghafar, dated 20 March 2004, shows a giraffe at full gallop. The giraffe's characteristic coat drawing with fine, merging lines gives the animal texture and depth, while at the same time emphasising its distinctive spots. The contours of the giraffe are soft and flowing, emphasising the animal's grace. The background is deliberately minimalist, with only a few light strokes to indicate the ground. This draws the viewer's attention entirely to the giraffe. Overall, this drawing is an expressive portrait of one of Africa's most fascinating animals. It captures not only the physical appearance of the giraffe, but also something of its agility and grace.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
