This fascinating oil painting shows the Whirlpool Galaxy. In the centre of the painting are two large, spiral-shaped structures. These spirals are in shades of grey and pink, with the lightest areas in the centre of the spirals and darkening towards the outside, giving the painting a mysterious and ethereal quality. The brushwork is expressive and textured, giving the painting a dynamic and energised appearance. Overall, the work gives the impression of a cosmic dance, with galaxies or star systems spinning in the vastness of the universe, like a whirlpool. The whirlpool galaxy is also somewhat reminiscent of two-egg twins. Similar but not quite the same, connected but still individual. A rotating dynamic that does not allow either vortex to move apart.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
