It is based on a folkloric dance practiced on Oaxaca, Mexico. It comes from a poem of the same name. In the dance the dancer has to hold a pineapple over their shoulder the entire time.
When I was planning this piece I realized the similarities that the shape of the pattern from the pineapple had with the honeycomb so I decided to merge them.
The zentangle around the girl represent her movements as well as the ones from the bees and the music that's setting the pace.

Hello!
Let me introduce myself really quick. I'm 18, I was born in Mexico and therefore part of my inspiration for my pieces come form my culture and heritage, since I was 10 I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to art, and now days I'm pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts so I guess I'm going in the right direction. Right?
