This fascinating oil painting shows the cityscape of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania at night. In the foreground is Fort Bitt Bridge, one of Pittsburgh's many famous bridges. Its lights are reflected in the dark water, creating a dynamic line that leads the eye into the composition. The city skyline rises majestically in the background. Skyscrapers with illuminated windows rise into the night sky, with two particularly tall buildings dominating the silhouette. The colour scheme of the painting is predominantly in various shades of blue, from deep navy blue to bright cyan. Yellow and white dots of light create lively accents and convey the pulsating energy of the city at night. This work invites the viewer to immerse themselves in a dreamy, almost surreal version of a familiar cityscape and stimulates the imagination to visualise what the city of the future might look like.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
