This oil painting shows a fascinating interpretation of the planet Jupiter. The characteristic stripes and swirls of the giant planet's gaseous atmosphere have been captured in vivid, warm colours. The painting is dominated by bright reds, oranges and yellows, which represent Jupiter's turbulent storm zones. These are contrasted by cooler blues and whites that hint at the upper layers of the atmosphere. Jupiter's Great Red Spot stands out in the upper half of the planet. Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
