"Even the harshest living conditions can become bearable when one observes that others around them endure similar hardships. The shared experience of adversity often molds our perception, making suffering seem less extraordinary when it is a common reality among us."
Gela Mikava is a Georgian artist. He was born in Zugdidi in 1995, in a family of IDPs from Abkhazia. Gela won his first art competition at the age of 6 when he drew the image of the Coat of Arms of Georgia with chalk.
“When I think of something to say, my hand moves automatically, I trust my instincts and it comes naturally. I don’t think about the color and shape, they come by themselves as if they were meant to be.” -Gela Mikava
