"Momiji no Ga" or, translated in English, the 'Picture of the Red Maple Tree' depics a well-known Japanese legend where a brave samurai named Masamune sought to prove his courage by facing a fearsome dragon that terrorized his village. As he battled the beast, he stumbled upon a giant red maple tree that gave him the strength to defeat the dragon. As a reward for his bravery, the
tree became a symbol of good fortune and is said to still stand in the village to this day. The legend is often retold during the autumn season when the leaves of maple trees turn red.
