In Childhood, I seek to capture a nostalgic vision of childhood, a time that evokes both joy and loneliness in memory. The wooden swing, with its thick ropes and its structure reflected in the water, represents those moments of play and freedom that feel distant and trapped in time, within a setting of worn brick walls and a cobblestone floor, creating a contrast with the symbol of the swing, which is typically associated with companionship and children's laughter. That solitary swing conveys a sense of distance, as if those happy memories are unreachable, surrounded by shadows of experiences and growth.
With Infancia, I aim to invite reflection on how time transforms our memories. The work reflects the duality of childhood: a period of joy and freedom that, with the passing of years, turns into an echo of nostalgia and loneliness.
