La estructura de piedra se trata de las ruinas de uno de los chiflones mineros del carbón construidos por Federico Shwager a mediados del siglo XIX corresponde al punto de entrada a la mina, conocida en aquel entonces como el Chiflón N° 14.
Coronel de Maule está ubicado al sur poniente de la ciudad de Cauquenes, Provincia Maule, Región Octava, Bio-Bio, Chile.
