Inspirado en un fragmento de un poema de José Ramón Meléndez. Puerto Rico (1952). que decía "La muerte es renacer hacia un día más largo".
y Kevin García le contesta:
Trigo con peras / recordándose / en el "adiós" / Hijo.
La albahaca perfuma / un ladrillo que cae / abriendo la puerta / hacia el jardín.

Entonces pues, la pintura es una traducción visual de ésa contestación.
