This oil painting shows the impressive landscape of the Sierra Tara Humara in Mexico with a lonely rider and his dog on a narrow path. The landscape is dramatic and varied. A massive rock face rises up on the left, its steep cliffs painted in warm earth tones. The vegetation is lush and autumnal, with trees and bushes in shades of green, yellow and orange enlivening the scene. On the right, a wide view opens up into a plain. The distant view shows a varied landscape with rolling hills, forests and open spaces stretching to the horizon. The sky is a clear, light blue colour with a few delicate streaks of cloud. The vegetation and rocky structures are particularly detailed. Overall, the picture conveys an atmosphere of freedom, adventure and the vastness of nature.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
