This atmospheric oil painting captures the mysterious mood of a wooded area. In the foreground, a narrow stream meanders through the forest landscape, its mirror-smooth surface reflecting the surrounding trees and the bright sky. The banks are lined with lush, dark greenery, which forms a stark contrast to the glistening water. Slender tree trunks in various shades of grey and brown rise up on either side of the stream, their crowns disappearing into the upper edge of the picture. The foliage is depicted in delicate, impressionistic brushstrokes in various shades of green, giving the forest a lively, airy quality. In the background, sunlight breaking through the foliage blurs the trees into a misty veil, creating an effect of depth. This subtle lighting emphasises the dreamy, almost mystical atmosphere of the work.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
