La llanura de Cañas se transforma de verde en invierno a amarilla en verno. La falta de lluvia hace que el pasto tome colores brillantes como el oro y lo contraste con el verde de los árboles que se apiñan al borde de las quebradas y canales. Un motivo inspirador para la pintura, que al ser realizada en Plein air, es de pequeño formato, como intimista es el trabajo en el campo.
