This breathtaking oil painting captures the majestic beauty and grace of a great white heron in flight. The movement and dynamics of the flying heron have been masterfully captured. The outstretched wings are painted with wonderful detail. The tension in the legs and the slight tilt of the head convey a sense of power and purpose. Through the targeted use of light and shadow, as well as the soft transitions in the white and silver tones, the bird appears to be formed from pure light. The deep blue background not only enhances the visual contrast, but also creates an atmosphere of calm and mystery. The oil on velvet technique is very rarely used as it is very complex and difficult.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
