Artwork description

En la mitología griega, las nereidas se consideran ninfas del mar Mediterráneo y, como tales, viven en las profundidades del Mediterráneo; sin embargo, emergen a la superficie para ayudar a los marineros. Se las representa como muchachas muy hermosas, vestidas con túnicas de seda blanca con bordados dorados, a veces totalmente desnudas.
Escultura que representa una de las 50 nereidas. Tallado en roca de arena fósil del mar Mediterráneo y rematado con una cabeza de cristal.
