Artwork description

En ciertas ocasiones debemos hacernos de piedra para soportar y vencer las dificultades que la vida nos pone en el camino. Las figuras de piedra son uno de los símbolos recurrentes que he empleado desde hace mucho en mi pintura. En este caso las he empleado como testimonio del momento en que vivimos, dando gracias con aplausos cada día dedicado a esos trabajadores y trabajadoras que arriezgan sus vidas cada día en esta batalla contra ese vírus que nos ataca.

Her parents engravers and painters: Ana Rosa and Carmelo both leading figures of the Cuban plastic arts of the twentieth century, standing in the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana.
