This impressive oil painting on white velvet captures the majestic appearance of a black Friesian horse in a wintry landscape. Its flowing mane and bushy tail seem to be caught by the wind, lending the picture additional vibrancy. The horse's musculature and shiny coat structure are depicted with impressive attention to detail. The fine reflections of light on the black coat are particularly striking, giving the animal an almost tangible presence. The background is kept in soft, wintry colours. The contrast between the dark horse and the light-coloured snow creates a captivating visual tension. This painting captures not only the physical beauty of the horse, but also its spirit - wild, free and untamed. The technique of oil on velvet is very rarely used, as it is very time-consuming and difficult.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
