Reflejo del polémico Mall (Centro comercial) construido en la ciudad de Castro, Chiloé, en la ventana de una de las últimas casas tradicionales que quedan en la ciudad. Casas construidas con maderas nativas y recubiertas con tejuelas de Alerce, iconos de esta cultura chilota. Conflicto estético entre modernidad y tradición. ¿Quedarán sólo reflejos de culturas tan particulares, únicas e irrepetibles como la de la isla de Chiloé (Chile, patagonia insular) a causa de los avasalladores y violentos procesos de modernización y aculturación sufridos en las últimas décadas?. Es la pregunta que se plantea el artista.

Artist information

Mauro was born in Santiago de Chile on July 14, 1966. Has 20 years experience as a painter, studying, researching and teach the trade. Has developed extensive experience in graphic design, which has enriched the design, creation and mantencin of web pages, as webmaster. Also, in the field of theater, film and television, it has played in the creation of set designers, and fictitious corpreos as artistic director.
