Artwork description

I was pretty depressed when I did this painting, a lot of things weren't going right in my life. I had fallen out of love with the world almost. The three bits of colour symbolize the three good things in my life at the time, my mother, step-father and my dog Katie.

Artist information

My name is David Thomson, I was brought up in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland and my art reflects the cathartic expression of my emotions past and present.

I now live beside the Campsie Hills in Lennoxtown. I studied graphic art and design at The College of Building and Printing and then Caledonian University in Glasgow. I have found that I can express myself better through painting than graphic art.

I like to experiment with different styles but my art tends to be of an abstract nature.
