Tal vez el puente de la Torre sea el segundo monumento más emblemático de Londres, despues del Big Ben. Construido en 1894 de estilo neogótico, se equipó con un mecanismo bascular, antaño revolucionario, que permitía sólo en tres minutos ceder el paso a los barcos. Aunque el tránsido naval haya disminuido, el puente aún cumple con su cometido y se eleva unas mil veces al año.
