This nascent Flemish sculptor Brussels in 1597, arriving in Rome in 1618, where he died in 1643. Duquesnoy is initially formed with his father in the Flemish tradition, but on his arrival in Rome opts for classicism, being a friend of the painter Poussin and Sacchi and getting to work with Bernini.
