I started from a set of aquatints, scanned and reworked them digitally in combination with a scan of a MRI of my brain. The resulted image is printed on canvas and reworked with acrylics and pastels. I am looking for a visual harmony between the imagery I am creating and the one that is rendering the physical space where we assume the creative process takes place. It also reflects my self-healing process in dealing with Parkinsonism, a degenerative disease I was diagnosed with five years ago, the time when the MRI was taken. Blending the two images resonates as a metaphor of acceptance, my coming to terms with the fragility of our existence. The blunt, medical information contained in an MRI scan acquires a new almost poetical dimenssion in association with the totemic image creted by me and by adding color.
