Casi 500 años después los descendientes de aquellos moriscos y cristianos reviven aquellos días entre la historia y la leyenda, celebrando una fiesta que les ayuda a recordar quienes son y como aprendieron a convivir moros y cristianos, mezclándo a sus gentes de tal forma que hoy tan sólo pueden adivinar de donde vienen unos y otros, sin poder asegurar quien tiene un antepasado cristiano o moro. Por ello los toloxeños y toloxeñas del siglo XXI son, como tantos pueblos de Andalucía, ejemplo de convivencia y entendimiento entre Oriente y Occidente.
