Artwork description

This composition is the ending of one journey and the beginning of a new one. The Cuban flag in our rafter\'s head gets stretched as he navigates away from his land. His patriotic thoughts and his culture are morphing to accompany him wherever he goes. He might leave Cuba, but Cuba will never leave him.

Artist information

Born in Havana, Yordan Silvera attended the Cuban National Academy of the Art, San Alejandro, and majored in painting. In 2003 Silvera moved to the United States where he attended and graduated from the Corcoran College of Art+Design majoring in Graphic Design, and being awarded with a full scholarship.
