Son muchas las leyendas en torno al origen del nombre de esta calle, estrecha y adoquinada con piedras en cuña, tÃpicamente portuguesa. Una de ellas es que se trataba de un paso por donde los presidiarios sentenciados a muerte eran llevados a la vera del rÃo para ser fusilados.
