En el invierno de 2008 una erupción de cenizas en el volcán Chaitén, hizo que el cielo de la Patagonia se tiñera de gris, el espectáculo era realmente desolador cuando el viajero se aventuraba hacia Esquel, donde la nieve y el cielo se fundían en una masa tenebrosa, que cubría paisaje y animales. Este árbol solitario, a orillas del río Corintos me produjo la sensación de estar viendo al último vigía esperando el embate de las tinieblas.
