Cristóbal Flores, acudió personalmente a Guelatao de Juárez, Oaxaca, a fin de sensibilizarse perfectamente del lugar, además de realizar una obra de caballete in situ, con objeto de lograr captar en toda su magnitud y belleza el paisaje y así, poderlo reproducir al tamaño solicitado por la Fundación de la Familia de Benito Juárez García, A.C. en su sede en la ciudad de México.
