This work reflects a study on the primitive goddess, Gaia, the creator of the Universe. Gaia is the goddess-mother of a thousand names, the representation of life's universal principle, the donor and nurturer. The feminine goddess is commonly represented with big breasts and large abdomen, the classical fertility and pregnancy symbol. In this work, I have decided to represent her as she is today, with a slim-body, dry and arid. The sand texture I used in the body reflects human disrespect to mother nature, the result of global environmental degradation. The solitary all-seeying represents her divinity that persists in spite of her pains. The vulva symbolizes life creation, a world given birth by a gigantic vagina. In the palette choice, I tried to express in this screen nature elements: fire, earth, water and air.
