My work is the result of thorough study, reassessment and ultimately understanding of my cultural past as a Latin American artist. This understanding is expressed in the magical imprint my sculptures have at the time of their birth. I find in me, at some point, a spiritual and heartfelt desire to find meaning in the mysteries and the magic that envelop objects in pre-Columbian art. I am always intrigued in the ancient shaman’s continuous search in the changing of their being to become another without losing or leaving their self .The constant use of masks and costumes with the aim of becoming "other." Thus, in my work I find it natural to project my instincts to create an image from nothingness, discovering with astonishment that "other" in metamorphosis, that from my body, finally appears before my eyes, becoming, for me , in the spirit of magic and essence of transformation and change.
These times require us to stay alert to “change” and the message of my work invites you to revalidate the way you “live” your culture, to give it meaning and acknowledge it as part of your life and integrate it with new technologies. At first glance my work is, trees…man trees, machine trees; they are messengers preparing us for what’s to come. They leave a message to protect and conserve our animal and plant kingdoms. These are works constructed with recycled paper and carrying on their backs the shield, the symbol of the ongoing fight against global climate change. (RECYCLE).
