Amazilia luciae, es un colibrí registrado solamente en algunos valles secos en la vertiente Atlántica de Honduras, es endémico de este país (no aparece en ninguna otra parte del planeta) y según el “libro rojo” Threatened Birds of the Americas: The ICBP/IUCN Red Data Book (Collar et al, 1992)
