Un gato de cierto color no se distingue de noche, de un gato de otro color, puesto que la falta de luz da un tono pardo a su piel.
Por eso nos parecen iguales y podemos confundirlos.
Con una iluminación débil, todos los objetos parecen del mismo color. Ocurre entonces que no se puede identificar al gato que haya cometido una fechoria. Cuando alguna persona que no es honrada comete alguna mala acción en circunstancias lo suficientemente oscuras como para que no se pueda sospechar de ella, se beneficia de la misma duda que el gato en la noche.
