El término sánscrito námaste se escribe नमस्ते en escritura devanagari. A diferencia del gesto que se lleva a cabo en el hinduismo al unir las mano, el "Namactec" sería el gesto de estar atado a un dispositivo tecnológico, como un móvil, una laptop o una consola de videojuegos.
En japonés este gesto de las manos (con una reverencia más inclinada) se llama gasshō (合掌).
