Born in Camaguey, Cuba on June 23, 1946. He began his career in the art through acting, directing and scenic design for the theater. As of 1965 studied at San Alejandro Academy and the National School of Fine Arts. He has shown his works in over twenty group exhibitions in Cuba, Mexico and South America, and received eleven National Prizes in painting, drawing and graphic arts.
