Velazquez retrata la imagen (el cuerpo y la belleza) que se redobla a si misma en el espejo. Hay correspondencia entre el sujeto (la venus) y el objeto (su imagen reflejada en el espejo). La identidad del individuo (la venus) está a salvo.

En mi montaje(la realidad de mi tiempo), ya no hay espejo. Su lugar ha sido ocupado por un artefacto (monitor de PC o TV) de pantalla opaca en que se mira la venus. Se mira pero no se ve. Su cuerpo está presente pero sin reflejo, sin intercambio subjetivo (narcisista). La energía, que antes era devuelta al individuo a través del reflejo, es absorbida integramente por la pantalla y el cuerpo aparece como un objeto innecesario.

Artist information

Born in 1951 in Cañamero (Cáceres). In the 70 studies Sociology course at the University of Paris VIII Vincennes (including my teachers Châtelet, Deleuze, Derrida, Virilio, Foucault, etc.) and at 90, studied law at the UCLM.
