Es una obra original de Diego Velázquez pintada en Sevilla en el año1618.
Se encuentra expuesto actualmente en la Galería nacional de Escocia, en Edimburgo.
La escena de este bodegón se desarrolla en el interior de una cocina, iluminada con fuertes contrastes de contraluces y representa a una anciana cocinando dos huevos en una cazuela de barro y a un muchacho con un melón y una frasca de vino.
La medida es de 106 x 82 cm. y esta realizada con pintura al oleo sobre lienzo.
(La obra original 120 x 101 cm.)
