Los Guloyas de San Pedro de Macorís forman parte de la cultura e historia dominicana y a su vez declarados patrimonio cultural de la humanidad.

La historia de su origen habla de que nacen con los descendientes de negros cocolos que inmigraron a la ciudad de San Pedro de Macorís provenientes de las islas británicas del Caribe y su principal característica es que son enmascarados.

La representación mas importante de los Guloyas es la de la historia biblica de David y Goliat y en la actualidad son la figura principal del carnaval de la ciudad de San Pedro de Macorís.
