On Thursday afternoon, Grandpa Noonan and I canoed George Lake. We inspected A.Y. Jackson Lake and Little Sheguiandah Lake. I set up my easel on the large point just west of the portage to Freeland Lake. The La Cloche Mountains just to the west across George Lake were an inspiring site. The wind had veered around to the north and I had to get in the shelter of the spruce trees on the point. The painting just flowed. #0851 "The Sun of La Cloche" is the bigger version inspired by this sketch.
