Bosque Encantado

Esther Cuéllar is a Colombian contemporary artist for more than 27 years,whose current practice focuses on abstract painting driven by color, texture, and mythological research. After working in fine arts ceramics from 1990 to 2010, she transitioned fully into painting, bringing a strong sense of materiality and surface into her work. Since 2003, her paintings have explored universal and Colombian creation myths, evolving into the ongoing series Beyond the Origins: The Creation. Using layered textures, palette knife work, and acrylic pouring techniques, Cuéllar creates expressive abstract compositions where color functions as the primary narrative force, inviting reflection on origins, identity, and existence.
