Los pinares por su significación toponímica (dan nombre a la provincia) y condición maderable se difunden. La Sierra del Rosario (reserva de la Biosfera caracterizada por el manejo forestal) tiene plantaciones, aunque el pino local no es principal renglón productivo. La naturaleza sorprende con su propagación espontánea.

Uriarte is an architect and artist. Born in Pinar del Ro, Cuba in 1957. His work is conceptualized from the fragile-identity, ranging from landscape painting, digital art, architecture, landscape design, and includes research, receiving awards for his work on the landscape cohesive .
