Los precedentes del Vía Crucis datan de los primeros siglos del cristianismo, de la piadosa compasión con que los cristianos primitivos veneraban los pasos de la Vía Dolorosa. La española Silvia Eteria, peregrinó a Tierra Santa en el siglo IV. Y en su Peregrinatio describe el ejercicio piadoso de los cristianos de Jerusalén, recorriendo durante la Semana Santa el camino del Calvario.
La mayoría de estas «estaciones» han sido tomadas del Evangelio, otras las ha deducido o añadido la tradición piadosa del pueblo cristiano con una sana lógica.

Este Viacrusis es realizado en la tecnica de repujado en alumino, su color predominante es el plata.
