La obra quiere destacar la belleza del patrimonio cultural venezolano, y su conservación, la arquitectura colonial que debemos valorar, y también la nueva arquitectura que manifiesta un nuevo momento histórico, una nueva tecnología, respondiendo a una lógica evolución y adaptación. Lo antiguo y lo contemporáneo en un mismo escenario. Esto, la ciudad, lo urbano, su complejidad, como hábitat del ser humano, cuya esencia es la misma desde que aparece en la Tierra, con sus necesidades físicas y espirituales.
