Estas ruinas forman parte de la Ruta del Esclavo para el Caribe Insular. Angerona es una de estas importantes haciendas. La esclavitud fué un mal del que no pudo escapar, pero los negros que allí trabajaron comprendieron la diferencia entre ser tratados como hombres, iguales en derechos y dignidad.
