"Sentado con los pies colgando
en el abismo de la obligada calma,
escucha paciente el eco perdido
dibujado en el crepúsculo de su ayer.
No hay miradas ni palabras,
ni gesto que rompa el ceño
ni bálsamo que herida sane;
un soplo de aire frío por respuesta,
un recuerdo que en su maldita o bendita
lejanía se vuelve confuso.
Sosiego impuesto
?voz implacable de la cobardía-,
que lleva en su aroma
el fuego de la pasión perdida;
que habla con palabra muda
inventando otra forma, mortal y rotunda,
de decir adiós."
